Providing Clinical Supervision to Certified or Licensed Practitioners
Faculty: Wilma J. Peeples MSSW/LCSW/LMFT/BCD This course will only meet the criteria for general continuing education requirement hours for professionals who are providing clinical supervision. Such as, social workers, marriage and family therapists and alcohol and drug counselors. This course will help you to enhance your knowledge and skills to take your supervision to a higher lever of practice.This course has received excellent reviews in the past.
This course does not meet the general requirement for LCSW clinical supervision. (this course for social workers only can be found on LCSW Clinical Supervision menu under the courses tab).
Participants will be able to
Define clinical supervision and differentiate between the role of the supervisor and supervisee
Discuss the laws and regulations which guide clinical practice and supervision that pertains to clinical social workers, marriage and family therapist, professional counselors, alcohol and drug counselors and psychologists
Discuss the expectations of the supervisee and supervisor
Identify the benefits, approaches and methods of clinical supervision
Develop and implement a clinically focused supervision contract
Demonstrate a knowledge base on KAR Code of Ethical Conduct and Practice
Create a clinical evaluation tool so as to document supervisees knowledge, skills and abilities (critical thinking)
