The Center for Professional Development & Continuing Education, LCSW Clinical Supervision Course, has scheduled the initial board approved six (6) hour course before the January 1, 2022 deadline. The Course will be delivered live, virtually over the internet.

The revised social work regulations as issued by the KY Board of Social Work, " all licensed LCSW supervisors must have an approved Six (6 hour) CE certification to provide LCSW Clinical Supervision in Section 4.2(d1) of the 201 KAR 23:070 Qualifying Education and Clinical Practice experience under Supervision, as related to the requirements in KRS 335.010 to 335.160 and 335.990, and 201 KAR Chapter 23".

Section 4. Supervision:
"Completed an initial board approved six (6) hour training course on supervisory practices and methods for licensed clinical social workers; the course shall be completed by no later than January 1, 2022 for supervisors currently approved as of the effective date of this administrative regulation; and, in addition to the six (6) hour training course, each approved supervisor, will complete a board approved three (3) hour "refresher course" at each licensure renewal period thereafter to maintain supervisory status with the board".

Learn Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Enhance the professional development of the Certified Social Work Supervisee to provide clinical social work services and, prepare the suprevisee for independent practice.
- Develop a learning model to deliver clinical supervision throughout the Clinical Supervision contract period.
- Deliver to supervisees the required knowledge on the Kentucky Laws and Regulations in the Social Work Code of Ethics with particular emphasis in Clinical social work Practice.
- Have a working knowledge on 201 KAR 23.070 Qualifying education and clinical practice experience under supervision
- Learn and utilize a theoretical foundation for clinical supervision
- Provide an evidence-based evaluation method so as to enhance the supervisors knowledge, skills and abilities to demonstrate delivery of clinical supervision to the supervisee.
- Provide an evidence-based evaluation method so as to enhance supervisees knowledge, skills and abilities for clinical independent practice
